Confidence is a vague concept but a necessary element for success. Since it is often based on what a person achieves rather than his potential, many people including students feel shy of saying “yes, I can.“
There is no one who knows you better than yourself. You know best about your aspirations, strengths and weaknesses. But often, you judge yourself from the opinions of others- your family, classmates, teachers, bosses etc. when they doubt you, you also internalize it and feel you are not confident. Confide to yourself in your potential.
Confidence is not a hard matter like a rock. Poverty, lack of information or knowledge or communication skills, lack of awareness , over-competition, crisis in world market can damage your confidence.
If you know the causes and take corrective steps to bridge the gaps between your ambition and your ability, you can get back confidence.
You are unique and precious human being. Believe that.
Your life is better than any one trait , including confidence.
Don’t blame yourself for setbacks beyond your control such as economic crisis.
If you focus on your past successes but not on your failures, you can retain your confidence.
Hanuman could cross the ocean when his confidence was raised by the praise of his minions
Viswanath Anand, the Chess champion of the world says that he can remove even the defeat in finals from his mind surgically with in three days and feel cheerful again.
Poverty could not prevent Kalam from becoming the President of India.
Sam Pitroda could develop from being a tribal to techno-savvy inventor and harbinger of Telecom revolution in India.
Communication skills helped Obama to win the elections overcoming colour discrimination.
Chandana kochar became the CEO of a leading company.
Kalpana Chawla and Sunita Williams could go into space and realize their dreams.
Confidence is merely a strong sense of purpose in your own goals and perseverance.
If you maintain physical, mental and intellectual and spiritual fitness , you can be confident.
Regular exercise or playing your favourite games make you physically fit.
Regular reading of classics or good books will make you mentally vigorous.
Rational thinking and following your ideas without losing your heart in the middle will make you intellectually sound.
Realizing the value of bounteous nature and other living creatures makes you spiritually strong.
